Marak accuses CM of attempting to divide BJP
The state BJP has accused the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma of attempting to divide the party.
He was strongly reacting to the claim made by the chief minister that majority of the BJP leaders want to oust Ernest Mawrie as the state president of the party.
In a statement issued on Sunday, BJP state vice president Bernard N Marak said Conrad Sangma commenting on internal matters of BJP is a desperate attempt to divide State BJP.
“Those talking in favour of Conrad led government are those who support corruption.
Conrad Sangma wants to divide BJP leadership as he fears BJP will win maximum number of seats in the upcoming GHADC election and he wants to oust the State President because they want to put up their own candidates in BJP ticket,” he said.
“People are fed up with the ongoing corruption and have lost faith in NPP so they want to control BJP. NPP have less hope of winning the upcoming GHADC election due to rampant corruption in GHADC and non payment of salaries to the employees,” he added.
Claiming that there is BJP wave sweeping through the grassroot level, Marak said there is a conspiracy to oust the state president so that they can capture BJP.
“Conrad Sangma blames the BJP state president for highlighting corruption issues in media and to the Centre leaders without consulting him. He thinks he can control BJP President like he controlled other leaders. People of Garo Hills know the truth no matter how much the elected deny there is no corruption, people are aware of the realities.”
Stating that people will not vote former NPP MDCs to power again in most of the constituencies, Marak said that is why they fear that if BJP is elected to power, it will reveal the truth about the manipulations, misappropriations, conspiracies against the GHADC and the people of Garo Hills besides the steps taken to abolish ADCs.
“His immature statement against BJP state president Ernest Mawrie revealed a bigger conspiracy against the state BJP than just a leadership issue. 99% BJP karyakartas and supporters are with the State leadership and have faith in BJP’s ideology which has made its presence felt to the masses in different levels and by raising various corruption issues where people were directly affected in Garo Hills and in the state,” Marak said.
He said the BJP workers know the influence of Conrad Sangma on certain elected BJP representatives and leaders who are availing benefits from the government but on the ground, BJP stands united against corruption.
He added that Conrad Sangma played the same game in GHADC where he included one BJP in the Executive Committee and kept others in opposition dividing the party.
The BJP leader further alleged that the chief minister is also luring many BJP workers to join NPP and they are spreading negative information about BJP in the grassroot level.
Meanwhile, Marak expressed confidence that unlike last elections, BJP will win good number of seats in the GHADC election and that will be a strong message that BJP is united against corruption which has been raised by BJP leadership.
