In his resignation letter to State BJP President Shibun Lyngdoh, Marak lambasted the party for failing to put up its own candidate in spite of the strong demand from Garo Hills Party Leaders and Workers and rather the BJP either directly or indirectly asking us to support others! He also said in the last MLA election also the BJP rather than supporting and financing its own candidate, it openly supported and financed others the best example is the Williamnagar LA Constituency.

The resignation letter reads that in the meeting held on 06-03-2019 at the Tura Party Regional Office attended by Lyngdoh and one Shri. Ajai Janwal, General Secretary in-Charge North East, they have been promised to set up candidates in both to the 2-Tura parliamentary Constituency and the 48-Selsela Constituency by-election but the top leaders failed to fulfil their own promises, very shocking.
