Marbiang elected as first woman president of KSU Delhi unit
SHILLONG: Marbiang Khongwir was elected as the first woman president of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Delhi Unit.
Election of the new office bearers was held at 9-APJ Abdul Kalam Road, New Delhi on Saturday.
The meeting was attended by KSU chief Lambok Starwell Marngar as chief guest and finance secretary of the central body Manly Nongpluh as guest of honour.
Supreme Court advocate and former KSU Delhi Unit president Kynpham V Kharlyngdoh was also present.
Addressing on the ocassion, Marngar appeal to the members and students from the state studying in the national capital to work hard in order to achieve their goals.
He also lauded the Delhi Unit for growing from strength to strength and said that this would not have been possible without the willingness of the members to take upon themselves the responsibility to look into the interest and welfare of the students from the state.
The other office bearers are Wallam K Nongsiej (vice president), J Mathew Tangsong (general secretary), Bapynsuk Nohwir (joint secretary), N Nongtdu (finance secretary), A Syiemiong (asst finance secretary), Donbok Wanniang (organizing secretary), and B Umdor (education secretary).
