Massive landslide at Shillong Bypass

Road communication between Assam and Meghalaya by National Highway 6 has been disrupted following a massive landslide at Umkhen Thangshalai Bridge affecting vehicular traffic on Saturday.

The Shillong Bypass not only connect Assam Meghalaya but also connect Tripura, Mizoram and lower Assam (Barak Valley).

There was no report of any casualty.

“Reports of Major Landslide at Shillong Bye Pass. Drivers are advised to use the Sohryngkham Shillong road instead. Citizens are also advised to drive only if absolutely necessary and to drive with utmost Cautiousness and Stay Alert for any signs of possible Landslide all along the National Highway.
