Mawlai MLA for new cab fare
Opposition chief whip and Mawlai MLA PT Sawkmie on Tuesday suggested the state government on the need to regulate new fares for local taxis and auto rickshaws.
“I feel it is necessary for the government to regulate new fares so that it will be helpful for the drivers,” Sawkmie said in his letter to the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma.
He said prior to lockdown the fares charged by the local taxi and auto rickshaw is workable. However, in view of the present situation due to COVID-19, social distancing has to be adhered to by maintaining the number of passengers, the MLA added.
