Mawlein village declared containment area

The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District on Saturday has declared Mawlein village under Mawkynrew C&RD Block as a containment area.

The order was issued based on the per report received from Block Development Officer, Mawkynrew C&RD Block and the Medical & Health Officer In-charge of Mawkynrew PHC that a COVID-19 positive person has come in contact with a large number of people around Mawlein village under Mawkynrew C&RD Block without taking any precaution even after being advised to isolate as per the protocols of the Government.

The order restrict unregulated entry and exit in the affected areas until the contact tracing exercise is completed as to contain the spread of COVID-19.

In another order, the District magistrate declared the house of Batsy Khongwir at Jaiaw Lumpyllon as a Micro-Containment Area after the detection of COVID-19 positive cases.
