Mawryngkneng: 120 Kg cannabis seized, four arrested

Mawryngkneng Police on Thursday evening has seized 120.47 kg of cannabis (ganja) from two vehicle and arrested four people while they were conducting naka checking on National Highway 6 at Mawryngkneng, East Khasi Hills District.

“On a tip off, the ANTF team and police from Mawryngkneng PS conducted Naka checking at Mawryngkneng. Two suspected vehicles were detained and searched where a total of 124 packets of cannabis bound in brown tape were found from vehicle No AS 01 EK 2105 (LIGHT BROWN CIAZ) and vehicle No. AS 01 EL 8415 (White Swift Dzire) The total net weight of the cannabis is 120.47Kgs.” East Khasi Hills Police said in facebook post.

Four persons Rajkumar Rai (29 yrs), Jahidul Islam (31 yrs), Hiralal Ray (30 yrs) and Lakshman Kumar Singh (43 yrs) have been arrested and a case has been registered under NDPS Act.
