  • MBOSE HSSLC Results: Laban Bengalee Boys’ Higher Secondary School tops Science, St Mary’s leads in Commerce

    Laban Bengalee Boys’ Higher Secondary School in Shillong and St Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong secured the top positions in the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations in the science and commerce streams, respectively. The results were declared by the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) on Wednesday.

    Sohan Bhattacharjee (E,CS,Ph,Ch,M,Ae) of Laban Bengalee Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Shillong, clinched the first position in HSSLC (Science) by securing 483 marks, while St Mary’s Ferry Filarisha Wann (E,K,Ec,M,Ac,Bs) secured the first position in HSSLC (Commerce) with 472 marks.

    The second position in the science stream was secured by Gordon Kupar Nongbri (E,CS,Ph,Ch,M,Ae) with 476* marks from St. Edmund’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, and the third position was secured by Ar Meker Marpna (E,K,Ph,Ch,M,Bio) with 471* marks from St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong.

    In the commerce stream, the second place went to Raj Paul (E,IP,Bs,Ac,En,Ec) with 463* marks from St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, and the third position was shared by Pongkoch Dutta (E,M,Bs,Ac,En,Ec) with 458* marks from Laban Bengalee Boys’ Hr. Sec. School, Shillong, Pinky Kumari (E,M,Bs,Ac,En,Ec) with 458* marks from St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, and Aditya Prasad (Ec,Bs,M,Ac) with 458* marks from Don Bosco College (Hr. Sec. Section), Tura.

    Other students who featured in the top-10 list of science include: Aniket Pattanayak (4th ) with 470* marks from Laban Bengalee Boys’ Hr. Sec. School, Shillong and Amebaaihunsha Kharbhih (4th ) with 470* marks from St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong.

    Rilaakor Lamare (5th) with 468* marks from St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong. K Vansangpuii (6th ) with 466* marks from St. Edmund’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong.

    Weibha Nongtdu Lakiang (6th) with 466* marks from North Liberty Higher Secondary School, Mookyrdoop-Jowai.

    Joshaviah Onan Paswet (7th) with 460* marks from North Liberty Higher Secondary School, Mookyrdoop-Jowai

    Abhijit Deb (8th) with 459* marks from Laban Bengalee Boys’ Hr. Sec. School, Shillong

    Freddy Lyngkhoi (9th) with 455* marks from Sacred Heart Boys’ Hr. Sec. School, Shillong

    Edward Pohlong Lamare (9th) with 455* marks from St. Edmund’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong.

    Kevinstrong Lawriniang (10th) with 454* marks from Mairang Presbyterian Science College (Hr. Sec. Section), Mairang

    In the commerce stream, other top scorers include: Nearlina Bani Nongbri (4th) with 454* marks from St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong

    Ryan Surong Myrthong (4th) with 454* marks from St. Edmund’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong

    Ishuah Kharsohtun (5th) with 451* marks from St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong

    Sneha Paul (6th) with 446* marks from St. Edmund’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong

    Dicky Nongpluh (7th) with 445* marks from Shillong College Higher Secondary Education, Shillong

    Imazul Haque Laskar (8th) with 442* marks from Laban Bengalee Boys’ Hr. Sec. School, Shillong

    Alphi Clarissa Warjri (9th) with 440* marks from St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong.

    Jagjot Singh (10th) with 438* marks from Alpha English Higher Secondary School, Nongpoh.

    The pass percentage in the science stream was recorded at 85.24%, while in the commerce stream, it was 80.26%.

    In district wise, South West Garo Hills registered the highest pass percentage with 100 per cent in the science stream followed by East Jaintia Hills District with 95.92 per cent while the lowest is East Garo Hills District with 68.46 per cent.

    In the commerce stream, the district with the highest pass percentage is West Khasi Hills with 100 per cent followed by East Jaintia Hills at 97.50 per cent while South West Garo Hills is the lowest with 60 per cent.
