MCA Inter District U-23 Men’s Cricket: Ri-Bhoi beat AJCA won by innings and 64 runs

Ri-Bhoi secured their place in the Zone 1 final of the Inter-District U-23 Men’s Cricket Tournament with victory by an innings and 64 runs over All Jaintia Cricket Association in Nongpoh today. 

Yesterday AJCA had made 140 all out, to which Ri-Bhoi had responded with 318 all out, giving them a lead of 178.

In AJCA’s second innings today Rejoice Passah scored a combative 44 off 53 deliveries, with Mewada Shylla hitting 25 off 27 but their team were still dismissed for 113 in 35.2 overs, giving Ri-Bhoi victory.

Pratik Haritwal bowled sensationally today, taking 6/30, while Badonnam John (3/27) also scalped three wickets on the way to Ri-Bhoi’s victory. 

With two wins in Group B, Ri-Bhoi have qualified for the zonal final where they will face Group A victors Shillong Cricket Association A. The zonal final will be held on 8-9 March in Nongpoh. SCA-A had also won both of their group matches. 

Meanwhile, the Zone 2 final will be held on 5-6 March between Tura District Cricket Association A and North Garo Hills in Mendipathar.
