MCA U-16 Inter-District match abandoned after SCA-A posts 114/2

A promising encounter between SCA-A and WKHDCA in the ongoing MCA Under-16 Boys Inter-District Tournament 2025 was cut short as persistent rain forced the match to be abandoned without a result at madan Thad Mukhla Mission on Wednesday.
WKHDCA won the toss and elected to field, putting SCA-A in to bat under overcast skies. Despite early setbacks, SCA-A posted a respectable 114 for 2 in 17 overs before the heavens opened up.
Gautam Paul stole the spotlight with a composed and aggressive knock of 43* off 34 balls, peppered with six boundaries. Skipper Samelawan Nongkseh anchored the innings well with an unbeaten 24 off 23, while Unmuk Deka chipped in with a steady 23 from 36 balls. The opening pair of Krishiv Choudhary and Deka laid the foundation with a 37-run stand before wickets fell in quick succession.
Among the bowlers, Pynskhemlang Nongsiej impressed with figures of 2/18 in 4 overs, using pace and precision to dent SCA-A’s top order.
Just as SCA-A were building momentum at 114/2 in 17 overs, a sudden downpour swept across the venue, halting play abruptly. With conditions worsening and no signs of improvement, officials had no choice but to abandon the match, with both teams sharing the points.
