MCA U-16: Suraj Chettri hits century as SCA-B beat WKHDCA by 260 runs

A brilliant century from Suraj Chettri led SCA-B to a commanding 260-run victory over WKHDCA in the MCA Under-16 Boys Inter District Tournament 2025, held on April 26 at Madan Thad Mukhla Mission.
Winning the toss and opting to bat first, SCA-B posted a formidable total of 322/9 in 50 overs. Wicketkeeper-batsman Suraj Chettri stole the show with a blazing 129 off 102 deliveries, smashing 14 boundaries and two sixes at a strike rate of over 126. Ynsanhame Tang scored an unbeaten 43 at a quick pace, while Ryan Wilson Malngiang also contributed 43 runs.
In reply, WKHDCA struggled with the bat, getting bowled out for just 62 runs. Pynshngainlang Marwein showed some resistance with a fighting 16 runs off 37 balls. However, the rest of the batting lineup crumbled against SCA-B’s disciplined attack, led by Bankhrawbor Khongjee and Ynsanhame Tang, who picked up two wickets each. For WKHDCA, Pynshngainlang Marwein, Phibanker Iawphniaw and Pynskhemlang Nongsiej bowled well, taking two wickets apiece, but SCA-B’s massive total proved too much to chase.
Meanwhile, in Zone 2 at Mendipathar, EGHDCA registered a comfortable 7-wicket win over NGHDCA in another league match.
NGHDCA, after choosing to bat first, could only muster 30 runs in 15.3 overs. EGHDCA’s bowlers, led by Leangku N Sangma (3 wickets) and Tengsuang N Marak (2 wickets), dismantled the batting line-up.
EGHDCA chased down the small target within 10 overs, with Salchubirth M Sangma (10 runs) and Pohiram M Sangma (8 runs) guiding their side to victory.
