MCCEU demands Govt to release Rs 27 Cr pending dues
The Mawmluh Cherra Cements Employees Union (MCCEU) on Wednesday demanded the state government to immediately release the pending dues of over 300 employees of the company.
Addressing a news conference, MCCEU president Shanlang Diengdoh informed that the Union had submitted a reminder to the MCCL Managing Director to release all pending dues, which is amounting to Rs 27 crore, to the employees.
“We demand that normal salary be given to employees till the factory functions normally,” he said.
Diengdoh said that the union also urged the MD to speed up the normal functioning of the plant.
“The company should also expedite the VRS or golden handshake scheme to employees who are willing to opt as in previous years which was implemented in 2017,” he said.
When asked about the government’s decision to go for a joint venture to revive the MCCL, Diengdoh however said that the employees would leave the matter to the wisdom of the government and stakeholders.
