MCS candidates write to KSU, alleges MPSC secy’s daughter for objecting disclosure of marks demand
A group of candidates, who have cleared the MCS (Prelims) examination and who’s named appeared in the original list of 580 candidates, have alleged that the daughter of the secretary of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) is among those who raised objection to the Khasi Student’s Union (KSU)’s demand for disclosure of marks by all the students.
In a letter to the KSU leadership, the group of candidates, who do not want to disclose their names citing safety and security concerns, said, “After seeing the news that the Union is fighting against the malpractices of the MPSC in the MCS examination, we deeply appreciate the steps that you have taken regarding the irregularities in the selection of the MCS in Meghalaya.”
“We would like to inform you that in the second list published by the MPSC after detection of error as claim by the MPSC, there is one candidate…who is a daughter of the Secretary of the MPSC, who is also the one who raised objection against your union demand for the public disclosure of marks secured by all the candidates who appear the prelims that was conducted last year. She is one of the 6 candidates who signed the application letter for objecting the Union demand for disclosure of marks,” they said.
The group of candidates also alleged, “We want to tell you also that the Secretary’s daughter has been selected in the LDA post conducted by the MPSC which the result was declared in the month of July, this show a deep-rooted nepotism in the selection process of the MPSC.”
“Therefore, we request you to take necessary action regarding this so as to ensure that there is transparency in the selection of MCS in the present and in the future, we hope that you will continue to fight and put an end to all forms of nepotism,” they said while adding “Your fight will be a beacon of hope for us the aspirant who have no connection with anyone who work in the MPSC but deeply want to be a civil servant to serve the state.”
They further requested the Union to treat this letter as a very important as it will help the union expose more murky matter within the MPSC.
