MDA Govt accorded Rs 121 crores for construction of school buildings
Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma today laid the foundation for the construction of the new building of the Bajengdoba C&RD block in the presence of Dy. Speaker Timothy D. Shira, local MLA Bajengdoba Pongseng R. Marak, Kharkutta MLA Rupert Momin and other MDCs and ex-MDCs at Bajengdoba, North Garo Hills.
Laying the foundation of the building, he said that the present Government is committed to all round development of the State. He said that the construction of the new infrastructure is testatment to the Government’s effort to bring administration closer to the people. He added that the Government has accorded sanction of close to Rs 121 crores for the construction of new buildings and infrastructure across 46 blocks in the State.
Expressing his optimism he said that the new building once completed will provide a better working environment for the officers and will aid in facilitation of various welfare services for the people of Bajengdoba area.
Speaking at length on the various initiatives of the Government the Chief Minister took the opportunity to inform the gathering that the long pending demand of the people of the area for the upgradation of the Bajengdoba PHC to a CHC would soonbe taken up.
Earlier in the day the Chief Minister also inspected the ongoing construction of the PWD road and Hamilton Sangma stadium at Bakenang Nalsa locality of Bajengdoba.
