Meghalaya: 120 patients recovered from COVID-19, 77 fresh cases detected
120 more persons have recovered from COVID-19 taking the total recoveries to 11,573 in the state on Monday.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the patients who recovered from the viral infection include 91 from East Khasi Hills district, 9 West Jaintia Hills district, 8 Ri Bhoi district, 8 West Garo Hills district, 3 South West Garo Hills district and 1 North Garo Hills district.
Of the 77 new cases detected, Dr War said 63 are from East Khasi Hills, 6 West Jaintia Hills, 4 West Garo Hills, 3 South West Garo Hills and 1 West Khasi Hills.
Those tested positive also include 14 from Madanryting cluster, 3 armed force/paramilitary force personnel and 1 health worker from East Khasi Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 12,314 COVID-19 cases out of which 621 are active cases, 11,573 recovered and 120 deaths.
Dr War said the fatality rate due to COVID-19 is 0.97 percent.
Of the total active cases, East Khasi Hills has 373 positive cases, West Garo Hills 134, East Garo Hills 25, West Jaintia Hills 24, Ri Bhoi 20, South West Garo Hills 15, West Khasi Hills 10, East Jaintia Hills 8, North Garo Hills 6, South West Khasi Hills 4 and South Garo Hills 2.
“Till date, swab samples of 2,56,221 persons have been tested of which 2,43,907 were found negative,” the senior medical official said.
There are 68,630 entrants from outside the state.
