Meghalaya: 123 more tests positive for COVID-19, tally rises to 7,261
123 more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, taking the total active cases in the state to 2,369.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said the fresh cases include 79 from East Khasi Hills district, 14 from South Garo Hills district, 8 from Ri Bhoi district, 7 from West Garo Hills district, 6 from South West Khasi Hills district, 3 from West Jaintia Hills district, 3 from North Garo Hills district, 1 each from West Khasi Hills district, East Garo HIlls district and East Jaintia Hills district.
Out of the 138 recovered COVID-19 patients, Dr War said, 102 are from East Khasi Hills, 16 from West Garo Hills, 8 from Ri Bhoi, 6 from West Khasi Hills, 4 from East Jaintia Hills, 1 from South Garo HIlls and 1 from West Jaintia Hills.
He said 4,832 COVID-19 patients have been discharged as on date.
The state has detected a total of 7,261 COVID-19 out of which 2,369 are active cases, 4,832 recovered and 60 deaths.
East Khasi Hills district tops the list of districts in positive cases with 1,670 infections, that include 36 Armed Forces and Paramilitary Forces and 1,634 civilians, followed by Ri Bhoi 292 and West Garo Hills 190.
In the other districts, 44 cases in West Jaintia Hills, 41 in South West Garo Hills, 36 in East Jaintia Hills, 20 in East Garo Hills, 21 in North Garo Hills, 23 in South West Khasi Hills, 26 in South Garo Hills and 6 in West Khasi Hills.
“Till date, swab samples of 1, 67,265 persons have been tested of which 1,60,004 were found negative,” the senior medical official said.
