Meghalaya: 2 more dies of COVID-19, death toll rises to 110
Two more died of COVID-19 on Sunday taking the total fatalities in the state to 110.
The state has also recorded 70 new positive cases and 99 recoveries, Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said.
He said the new cases include 45 from East Khasi Hills district, 10 West Garo Hills district, 5 South Garo Hills district, 4 South West Garo Hills district, 3 Ri Bhoi district, 1 East Garo Hills district, 1 North Garo Hills district and 1 West Jaintia Hills district
Those tested positive also include 1 health worker, 1 police personnel and 1 armed forces/paramilitary forces personnel from East Khasi Hills.
Of the 99 persons who recovered from the viral infection, Dr War said 29 are from Ri Bhoi, 28 East Garo Hills, 28 East Khasi Hills, 5 West Garo Hills, 4 East Jaintia Hills, 3 West Jaintia Hills and 2 South West Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 11,339 COVID-19 cases out of which 894 are active cases, 10,335 recovered and 110 deaths.
Of the total active cases, East Khasi Hills has 441 positive cases, West Garo Hills 234, East Garo Hills 45, Ri Bhoi 32, South West Garo Hills 34, South Garo Hills 41, West Khasi Hills 27, East Jaintia Hills 19, West Jaintia Hills 11 and North Garo Hills 10.
