Meghalaya: 22 more test positive for COVID-19
The total number of COVID-19 active cases in the state stand at 139 after twenty-two persons have tested positive on Monday.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said the fresh cases include 18 from East Khasi Hills district, 2 West Jaintia Hills district and 2 East Jaintia Hills district.
He said those tested positive also include 6 health workers, 4 returnees and 7 high risk contacts.
Dr War also informed that a total 18 patients have also recovered from the viral infection in East Khasi Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 13,482 COVID-19 cases out of which 139 are active cases, 13,204 recovered and 139 deaths.
Of the total active cases, East Khasi Hills has 98 positive cases, West Jaintia Hills 4, West Garo Hills 15, Ri Bhoi 13, South West Garo Hills 2, East Jaintia Hills 2, East Garo Hills 1, West Khasi Hills 3, North Garo Hills 1.
“Till date, swab samples of 2,98,554 persons have been tested of which 2,85,072 were found negative,” the senior medical official said.
There are 79,273 entrants from outside the state.
