Meghalaya: 24 more tested COVID-19 positive includes 3 in Amlarem Sub Division
Twenty-four more persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 while 7 others have recovered from the infection on Wednesday.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said with the new detection, the total active cases in the state have gone up to 433.
The 24 fresh cases include 18 in East Khasi Hills (2 Air Force, 6 BSF & 10 others), 4 in West Jaintia Hills and 2 in East Jaintia Hills, he said.
“We also have 7 new recoveries that include 4 BSF, 2 Air Force and a civilian, taking the total recoveries from the virus to 77,” he said.
East Khasi Hills has over 366 active cases that include 269 BSF troopers, 14 armed forces and 83 others.
In Ri Bhoi district where areas bordering Assam have been declared as ‘containment zone’, the number of people infected by COVID-19 is 42.
There are 12 active cases in West Garo Hills, 5 in West Jaintia Hills, 3 in East Jaintia Hills, 1 in South West Garo Hills, 2 in South Garo Hills,1 in East Garo Hills and 1 in North Garo Hills.
