Meghalaya: 61 more recovered from COVID-19, 32 new cases detected
61 persons have recovered from COVID-19, taking the total recoveries to 12,531 in the state on Saturday.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said those recovered from the viral infection include 26 from West Jaintia Hills district, 23 East Khasi Hills district, 6 West Garo Hills district, 3 South West Garo Hills district, 2 Ri Bhoi district and 1 South Garo Hills district.
Of 32 fresh cases detected on Saturday, he said 21 are from East Khasi Hills, 4 West Garo Hills, 4 West Jaintia Hills, 2 Ri Bhoi and 1 South Garo Hills.
Those tested positive also include 6 armed force/paramilitary force personnel, 4 returnees and 8 high risk contacts.
So far, the state has detected a total of 13,221 COVID-19 cases out of which 557 are active cases, 12,531 recovered and 133 deaths.
Of the total active cases, East Khasi Hills has 353 positive cases, West Jaintia Hills 86, Ri Bhoi 38, West Garo Hills 32, South West Garo Hills 11, East Garo Hills 11, East Jaintia Hills 7, South Garo Hills 7, West Khasi Hills 5, North Garo Hills 5 and South West Khasi Hills 2.
“Till date, swab samples of 2,77,791 persons have been tested of which 2,64,570 were found negative,” the senior medical official said.
There are 73,914 entrants from outside the state.
