Meghalaya: 72 more tests positive for COVID-19
Seventy-two more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the new cases include 22 from East Khasi Hills district, 11 East Jaintia Hills district, 10 West Jaintia Hills district, 6 East Garo Hills district, 6 Ri Bhoi district, 6 South Garo Hills district, 6 West Garo Hills district, 2 North Garo Hills district, 2 South West Garo Hills district and 1 West Khasi Hills district.
Of 71 persons who recovered from COVID-19, Dr War said 46 are from East Khasi Hills, 12 West Garo Hills, 5 East Jaintia Hills, 5 Ri Bhoi, 1 East Garo Hills, 1 North Garo Hills, and 1 West Jaintia Hills.
The state has detected a total of 10,368 COVID-19 out of which 962 are active cases, 9,312 recovered and 94 deaths.
Of the total active cases, East Khasi Hills has 267 positive cases that include 7 Armed Forces and Paramilitary Forces and 260 civilians, Ri Bhoi 254, West Garo Hills 115, West Jaintia Hills 102, East Garo Hills 91, East Jaintia Hills 62, North Garo Hills 15, West Khasi Hills 8, South Garo Hills 25, South West Garo Hills 22 and South West Khasi Hills 1.
“Till date, swab samples of 2,15,624 persons have been tested of which 2,05,256 were found negative,” the senior medical official said.
There are 57,772 entrants from outside the state.
