Meghalaya: 8 new COVID-19 cases, 17 recoveries
The state has recorded 8 new COVID-19 cases and 17 recoveries on Saturday.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the eight new cases are from East Khasi Hills district.
He said the 17 patients who recovered from the viral infection include 14 from East Khasi Hills, 2 East Jaintia Hills and 1 West Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 13,761 COVID-19 cases out of which 74 are active cases, 13,541 recovered and 146 deaths.
East Khasi Hills has 66 active cases, East Jaintia Hills 1, Ri Bhoi 3, West Khasi Hills 2, South West Garo Hills 1 and West Jaintia Hills 1.
On the other hand, of the 3,34,713 persons who have tested for COVID-19 in the state as on date, 3,20,952 were tested negative for the virus even as 12 persons are in institutional quarantine and 69 under home quarantine.
There are 87,614 entrants from outside the state.
