Meghalaya | 84-year-old COVID patient dies at Tura, death toll rises to 8
An 84-year-old patient, who had tested positive for COVID-19, passed away at the Tura Civil hospital on Saturday night, taking the death toll in the state to eight.
West Garo Hills deputy commissioner, Ram Singh informed that the elderly patient was tested positive during a random sampling in Tikrikilla.
“Very sad to inform that a person aged 84 years who was tested positive during random sampling in Tikrikilla and admitted in TCH Covid ward on 18th August has passed away last night owing to complications due to comorbidities. Deepest condolences to the family members. May the departed soul rest in peace,” Singh said in his facebook post on Sunday.
The DC also informed that one 54 years old male COVID positive patient with comorbidities was successfully discharged from the Covid ward of the Tura Civil hospital after treatment today. He also thanked the Doctors, health staffs and almighty.
