Meghalaya and Nagaland University exempted from CUET 2024-25

The Union Education Ministry has decided to exempt Meghalaya and Nagaland from CUET 2024-25.
Under Secretary to Govt. of India Ministry of Education Gopesh Kumar in a letter F.No.1-19/2024(JS-CUET) May 28, 2024 informed on matter for Special consideration for the States of Meghalaya and Nagaland for Common Unversity Entrance Test (CUET).
The letter stated that the UGC had already considered the request received from State Govt. of Nagaland, through NTA and allowed affiliated Colleges in the State to take admission as per prevailing practice by giving exemption from CUET for the academic year 2024-25.
The UGC has considered the decision taken by the Ministry and agreed to allow admissions in the affiliated colleges of Central Universities in the State of Meghalaya and Nagaland i.e. NEHU and Nagaland University as per the prevailing practice by giving exemption from CUET for the academic year 2024-25 only.
Taking to X (Twitter), Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said, “Happy to inform our students that admissions to affiliated colleges to Central University’s in Meghalaya have been exempted from CUET for this academic year. I thank @dpradhanbjp ji for his continuous support and understanding.”
It may be mentioned that the students who appeared for the CUET recently went through a very tough time as there were confusions. The letter came at a time when the students have already given their examinations.
