Meghalaya BJP hosting an outdated party official website
JOWAI: Narendra Modi the Prime Minister of India advocates for the use of internet for the conveniences of the citizens by introducing many internet based application such BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money), Narendra Modi App, PMO India and MyGov amongst other as to promote Digital India but the leaders of the Meghalaya State BJP seem to disagree with the ideal of Modji of Digital India as they are hosting an outdated official website.
According to the official website entitled www.meghalaya.bjp.org, most of the information uploaded in the website is outdated and not updated since 2018 perhaps due to the lacks of technical know-how personnel in the party.
As per the website, in the list of State Office Bearers, the names of three MDCs were shown as State Executive Member when they had already resigned from the party since 2018.
Marki Mulieh, MDC State Executive Member resigned from the party in September, 2018 and joined the United Democratic Party and contested the MDC election from Jowai North Constituency but was unsuccessful.
Neil Antonio War, MDC State Executive Member resigned from the BJP in June, 2018 and joined the United Democratic Party (UDP) and contested from Laitumkhrah Malki Constituency but he lost the election.
Violet Lyngdoh, MDC State Executive Member resigned from the party in January 2018 and contested the MLA election on NPP ticket from Khliehriat Assembly Constituency but she was unsuccessful. Lyngdoh contested the MDC election but was defeated.
Thus, the information updated in the website regarding Marki Mulieh, Neil Antonio War and Violet Lyngdoh till date were wrong on two counts firstly they were not members of BJP anymore since 2018 and secondly they are no longer MDC.
Again, in the State BJP’s website, under the list of District Office Bearers, in West Jaintia Hills District, the website indicated Marki Mulieh as President and R.B. Hinge as General Secretary which is totally a misinformation to the viewers of the website.
Mulieh resigned from the President of West Jaintia Hills District in January 2018 as he contested the MLA election from Jowai Constituency though unsuccessfully and in his place Teiborlang Hinge was appointed President but he too resigned from BJP and the party appointed Shaphrang Lyngdoh as President. R B Hinge was also replaced by D Pasweth as General Secretary in 2018.
