Meghalaya Cabinet approves extension for filing of returns on petroleum products to May 15
The state Cabinet has approved the proposal to extend the period of filing of returns and clearing of taxes for petrol and petroleum products to May 15.
After the meeting on Wednesday, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong told reporters that the filing of returns and clearing of taxes could not be completed within the fixed period of March 31, due to the ongoing nationwide lockdown to combat COVID-19.
In view of this, he said a request was made to the state government for extending the date and month for completing the exercise.
“Accordingly, the cabinet has approved extension for filing of returns and clearing of taxes up to May 15,” Tynsong informed.
