Meghalaya Cabinet approves ‘swiss challenge model’
The state Cabinet has approved an office memorandum for adoption of ‘Swiss Challenge Method’ in the state.
After the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong told reporters that the proposal was placed before the cabinet by the finance department for consideration.
“We have approved the office memorandum which is about the adoption of swiss challenge method of procurement in the state of Meghalaya,” he said.
Tynsong said quite a number of states in the country have adopted this method. According to him, the state government has decided to adopt this method to attract innovative initiatives and unique ideas.
“We encourage private individuals, agencies or public undertaking to submit such proposals with detailed project reports (DPRs),” he said adding that such proposals will be examined by a committee headed by the chief secretary MS Rao.
