Meghalaya CM directs completion of Tura medical college by July 2021
Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma has directed completion of the much awaited Tura Medical College by next year.
Sangma said that only 25 percent work for the medical college has been completed so far.
“The work for the #Tura Medical College funded by @MoHFW_INDIA is 25% completed so far. DC and Dept to facilitate support to expedite the completion of the project. Have directed all concerned to ensure the completion of the Medical College by July 2021,” he tweeted.
Earlier, Health Minister AL Hek had informed that the Tura Medical College with 100 seats is being constructed on 100 acres in Doldegre, 8 km from Tura in West Garo Hills District.
The total cost of the project is around Rs 500 crore.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister informed that he has also discussed the Rs 14 crore waste to energy project in Tura. He said the MoU was signed in June, this year and land has been identified for the same.
Sangma has also directed the technology partner to ensure that the shipment of equipment reaches Tura and also ensure no delay in the training of manpower for the project.
