Meghalaya CM directs DGP to review law and order in the state
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has directed the Director General of Police (DGP) to review the law and order situation in the state.
“I have spoken to the Director General of Police (DGP) to convene a meeting with the district administration especially in Shillong and other adjacent areas to examine the law and order situation,” Sangma told reporters.
“If required, the state government will ask for more additional central forces from the central government,” he said.
He also assured that the government is taking all steps to ensure law and order in the state is maintained.
“I want to assure the people of the state that there should not be any doubt and the government will make sure to maintain the law and order,” he added.
