Meghalaya CM meets Union ministers in New Delhi, discusses important state issues
Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma met several central ministers during his official visit to New Delhi on Monday.
Sangma met the Minister of the department of Education Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi for discussion on strengthening the higher education landscape in the state and smooth conduct of examinations.
Sangma visited Minister of Development of Northeastern Region Jyotiraditya Scindia in New Delhi to discuss budget allocation for states like Meghalaya, whose capacity to implement projects and utilize funds has increased exponentially in the last 5 years. Additionally, flexibility on guidelines for states to utilize funds on projects that are important for their growth agenda.
Sangma met with Minister of State Kamlesh Paswan in New Delhi on Monday. The leaders had a detailed conversation regarding the institutional progress of rural infrastructure, tourism, and employment through various schemes.
With a focus to improve and enhance skill development in the state, the Chief Minister met with the Minister of State Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Jayant Chaudhary the state’s stellar performance in developing a thriving entrepreneurship ecosystem in the last few years. Discussing the role of the MSDE in guiding states like Meghalaya to find adequate sources of funding for strengthening their skill development and entrepreneurship ecosystem Chief Minister also submitted a proposal for a Skill Park at Tura.

Sangma and Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitaraman convened on Monday to discuss Meghalaya Economic Growth Accelerator (MEGA) Corridor Project.
Sangma and Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, Electronics & Information Technology, had a fruitful discussion on Monday regarding the Meghalaya government’ continuous endeavours to promote data-driven governance and various technology- enabled services that are in the pipeline in the state of Meghalaya.
