Meghalaya CM refuses to comment on MLA being chargesheeted in corruption case
SHILLONG, AUG 3: National People’s Party national president and chief minister Conrad K Sangma on Friday refused to comment on the recent chargesheeting of a sitting MLA by the Meghalaya Lokayukta in a corruption case.
“It is subjudice in nature so at this point in time it will not be possible for me to comment anything on this,” Sangma told reporters.
Sanjay A Sangma, an NPP legislator from Mahendraganj constituency is one among the 12 persons, who have been charge-sheeted in the case.
The other persons charge sheeted by the Lokayukta include nine former members of the executive committee and a secretary of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) besides two contractors for non-completion of the member’s hostel at Tura, which amounting to Rs 6,01,31,100.00.
