Meghalaya COVID-19 | 11th patient tests negative, 6th test report awaited
The 11th positive patient on Tuesday was tested negative for the coronavirus after retest was done for the fifth successive time.
“The 11th patient who has been coming out positive in the last two test conducted, was tested again and the result is negative. We will have to conduct another test after 24 hours for final outcome,” Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said in his twitter post.
The patient is a family friend of the first case.
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong informed that the report reached yesterday midnight.
On the other hand, Health Minister AL Hek said that the samples have already been collected and sent for testing. “We are now waiting for the result of the sixth test,” he said.
The state has recently recorded a fresh case after a maid servant in the house of the first case was tested positive. According to Hek, her condition is stable and retest will also be carried out.
It may be mentioned here that the state has 13 positive cases including 1 death. Of these, 10 patients have been declared fully recovered but are still undergoing home-quarantine as per protocol.
