Meghalaya COVID-19 upadate | 1000 tests negative, results of 97 awaited
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday said of 1109 samples tested, 1000 were negative while test results of 97 is awaited.
Sangma said a total of 12 people were tested positive for COVID-19 of which 11 are active and 1 died.
“All positive patients are stable,” he said.
He said of 24,382 people screened, 5208 of them have gone for home quarantine and 296 are under institutional quarantine.
49,391 phone calls have been received through helpline while 22,303 persons have been contacted through IVRS.
The CM further informed that the state has received 64,458 personal protection equipments (PPEs), 5,10,000 3 ply masks and 65,190 N95 masks.
He said 5,087 of 10,287 stranded people were provided with fianancial assistance under the CM’s Special Grant for stranded people till today.
He said Rs 2,100 was also extended to each of 2,02,281 of 2,33,193 registered as unorganized labourers while 9,302 labourers were also provided with Rs 3000 each under Building and Other Construction Workers Act.
Under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, he said 87,189 farmers from Meghalaya have been provided financial assistance of Rs 2000.
The CM further informed that April , 2020 quota of NFSA and Non NFSA has been distributed fully to 70,198 Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) households covering 2,90,989 beneficiaries @Rs 3 per kg of 35 kg rice per household and to 3,51,305 Priority House Hold (PHH) households with 18,54,156 beneficiaries 5kg of rice per beneficiary @Rs 3 per Kg.
He said 1,33,861 households covering a population of 7,72,694 are covered under Non-NFSA and are getting an allocation of approximately 7.215 kg per household @Rs.12 to Rs. 14 (rate fixed by Deputy Commissioners) per kg for rice .
Under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY)- the above AAY and Priority Household beneficiaries apart from their PDS NFSA quota are also getting 5 kg rice free of cost per head per month for April, 2020 . They shall also get the PMGKAY free ration for May and June, 2020 also .
Additionally, all AAY and PHH households shall get 1 kg of pulses per month for April, May and June, 2020 free of cost. April quota distribution has already started . It is reiterated again that this is 1kg per household.
The CM however said the Non-NFSA card holders are not covered under the scheme and are covered by other social security schemes like Open Market Sale Scheme which is providing rice at reasonable market prices of Rs. 29-30 per Kg.
