Meghalaya crushes Nagaland by an innings and 128 runs
Meghalaya crushed Nagaland in the Ranji Trophy match, winning by a huge margin of innings and 128 runs at the MCA Ground on Saturday.
Ram Gurung took 6 wickets, and Akash Kumar Choudhury was outstanding with a total of 10 wickets in the match.
Jaskirat Singh Sachdeva scored 75 runs for Meghalaya, and both Jaskirat and Ram had their best performances in their first season of Ranji Trophy.
Nagaland struggled, scoring only 72 in the first innings and Meghalaya responded strongly with 196/7. On the second day, Meghalaya added 108 runs, setting a lead of 232. Nagaland couldn’t cope, managing only 104 in their second innings.
Ram, Lerry Sangma, and Tarique Siddique played key roles in Meghalaya’s bowling. Akash (20 not out from 87 balls), who also batted well, took the last wicket and was named Player of the Match in his first game back from injury.
Meghalaya will next take on Mizoram from 26 January at Anand, Gujarat.
