Meghalaya declares state mourning in honour of former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh
Along with the rest of the country, the State of Meghalaya will observe state mourning from December 26th this year to January 1st next year as a mark of respect to the departed soul of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
Dr. Singh passed away at AIIMS Hospital in New Delhi on December 26th this year at the age of 92.
During the period of State mourning, the National Flags will be flown at half-mast throughout the State where it is regularly flown.
Furthermore, there will be no official entertainment during this period.
