Meghalaya Deputy CM lays foundation stone for 30 Bed Integrated Ayush Hospital in Mookyndur
Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar laid the foundation stone for a 30-bed integrated Ayush hospital in Mookyndur Village West Jaintia Hills District.
Funded by the Union Ministry of AYUSH at the cost of Rs 10 crore.
Present at the ceremony were Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Ampareen Lyngdoh and Commissioner & Secretary of the Health & Family Welfare department cum Director of AYUSH, Dr. Joram Beda.
In his address to the attendees, Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar emphasized the government’s dedication to various developmental projects, particularly in healthcare, aimed at benefiting the community. He expressed gratitude to the people of Mookyndur Village for generously donating 5 acres of land for the much-needed construction of the integrated Ayush hospital. He stressed the importance of expediting the project to ensure timely delivery of essential healthcare services to the community and surrounding areas.
Dr. Ampareen Lyngdoh remarked that the institution would offer Ayurveda, Unani, and Homeopathic healthcare services, focusing on non-communicable diseases and long-term treatments. She commended Dr. Joram Beda, Commissioner and Secretary of Health and Family Welfare, for his efforts in facilitating the project and acknowledged the significance of establishing such a healthcare facility in the region. Dr. Lyngdoh emphasized the importance of promptly selecting qualified doctors to staff the hospital.
Furthermore, she noted that a considerable number of Ayush doctors and students in the area hail from Jaintia Hills. Having local doctors, she explained, not only ensures a better understanding of local health challenges but also strengthens the bond between healthcare providers and the communities they serve.
