Meghalaya Football Team to participate in the Santosh Trophy Final round.
SHILLONG: The Meghalaya football team will leave for Ludhiana, Punjab, to take part in the Santosh Trophy final round, which will begin on April 8.
Meghalaya Football team were top of Group A after defeating Tripura and Mizoram in the North East qualifiers and therefore qualified for the Santosh trophy final round.
Shri. Khlain Pyrkhat Syiemlieh is the head coach of the team along with Dious Lapasam as the assistant Coach for the said tournament.
Before the team departs, Meghalaya Football Association Senior Cell Committee Member L Darlong encouraging the players to “grab their opportunity as the Santosh Trophy now is open to all – anyone can win. You must grab your opportunity and give your best because a second chance won’t come”.
Meghalaya have been drawn with Odisha, Goa, Delhi and the five times Champion Services in Group A of the final round. Meghalaya will first play Delhi on April 8, followed by Odisha (April 10), Services (April 14) and Goa (April 16). While Assam, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Punjab and Sikkim are in Group B. Top two teams from the groups will play in the Semi final.
