Meghalaya girls won 7-1 in the Hero National Sub-junior girls football championship
SHILLONG: Another thumping 7-1 victory by Meghalaya girls against Jammu &Kashmir today climbing top of the group in the Hero Sub-Junior Girls National Football Championship.
The girls were dominating right from the start of the whistle putting pressure the defense of Jammu & Kashmir and a brilliant shot from outside the box Napale Roiki Lytan in 3.42 min giving Meghalaya the lead 1-0. Despite through the scorching heat Meghalaya fought hard and in 18.50 min Sunalinda Iawrem scored the 2nd goal making it 2-0 . In 36min the third own goal was scored through a corner kick while in the 38 min Sanfida Nongrum scored leaving the scoreline 4-0 in the first 45mins.
In the start of the 2nd half, an error from the defense Jammu &Kashmir scored in 50 min. Meghalaya keep on pushing hard and in 55.45 min score through Fragrancy Riwan followed by a goal from Da-ai jingsuk Basawiawmoit in 77 min and Fragrancy Riwan score her 2nd goal in 80 min leaving the scoreline 7-1. With this win Meghalaya climb to the top of group G with a better goal difference.
Next match will be a decider against Gujarat on the 14 /06/2019 whoever wins will qualify for the Quarter Final.
