Meghalaya Government declared general holiday on April 19 for Lok Sabha Election
The government of Meghalaya has declared general holiday on April 19 to facilitate voters in participating in the general election to Lok Sabha 2024.
The Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, General Administration Department, announced that all State Government Offices and Educational Institutions will be closed on this day.
Additionally, industrial undertakings, establishments governed by the NI Act, 1881, shops, and shift-based or daily wage workers, including those working outside the constituency, will be entitled to the benefit of a paid holiday as provided in Section 135(B) of The Representation of the People Act, 1951.
