Meghalaya Governor released postal stamp dedicated to Raj Bhavan on Republic Day
Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik on Tuesday released a commemorative postal stamp during the 72nd Republic Day celebrations at Raj Bhavan in Shillong.
The postal stamp is dedicated to the historic Raj Bhavan of Shillong.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma tweeted “Alongside the Hon’ble Governor, Sh. Satya Pal Malik, released a commemorative postal stamp which is dedicated to the historic Raj Bhavan of Shillong as part of the Republic Day 2021 celebration at Raj Bhavan, Shillong today.”
The Governor unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of Marching Contingents in the presence of Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma during the Republic Day celebrations in Shillong.
During the celebration, the Governor also handed over the U Tirot Sing Award for Arts & Literature to Shri Raphael Warjri, Pa Togan N Sangma for Social Services to Rev. Dilseng M. Sangma and U Kiang Nangbah Award for Sports to Shri Hame Shaniah Suiam.
In recognition of the selfless, dedicated service rendered collectively by all the frontline health workers of the Government of Meghalaya during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chief Minister of Meghalaya handed over the award to Dr. Margaret Marbaniang, (Retd) Additional DHS and State Surveillance Officer, IDSP, DHS (MCH & FW).
On the occasion, the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Shri Conrad K Sangma handed over certificates to Pomlum PHC, Mawphlang CHC, Ganesh Das Government Maternal and Child Hospital, Shillong and Nazareth Hospital, Shillong for exemplary performance under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aroya Yojana (AB-PM-JAY) and Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS).
On the occasion of Republic Day 2021, the President Police Medal for Distinguished Service to Shri Timenson K Marak, AB Constable 1st MLP Bn, Mawiong, Police Medal for Meritorious Service to Shri Digreathson G. Momin, MPS, Assistant Commandant 2nd MLP Bn. Goeragre, West Garo Hills, Shri Madalu Ram, AB- Inspector, 4th MLP Bn. (2nd IRBN), Sohpian, Nongstoin and Shri Cliffhilberth B. Sangma, Assistant Sub Inspector, O/o Commandant 5th MLP Bn. Samgong, Williamnagar, Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service, Leading Fireman Wanlambok Lapang and Governor Medal Smti Crescency Wanlyne Lyngdoh, MPS, West Jaintia Hills, ABI Gelbert Manih of 6th MLP, UBSI Samuel W Sansyiem of SB-I, UBSI Everbloom Khyriem of SB-I, UBSI Roland S Nongrum of SF-10, UBC 894 Manish Kumar Chettri of East Khasi Hills, ABC 2343 Pynkhraw Kharshiing of East Khasi Hills, BNC Ricky Barua of 6th MLP Bn. And DFM Manchesterfield Wann of Fire and Emergency Services were also announced.
The other highlights of the day’s celebration includes song and tableau presentation by the Office of the District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, District Agriculture and Horticulture Office, Mission Director, Swachh Bharat Gramin, Directorate of Health Services (MI) and Office of District Medical and Health Officer, Divisional Soil and Water Conservation (Territorial) Division, Divisional Forest Officer, Social Forestry and Superintendent of Fisheries.
The tableau of the Directorate of Health Services (MI) and Office of District Medical and Health Officer bagged the first prize followed by Mission Director, Swachh Bharat Garmin in the second prize while the third prize was bagged by the Superintendent of Fisheries.
