Meghalaya: Govt allow transportation of coal
SHILLONG: The State Government partially modifies its order to permit the transportation of coal which have been loaded from the sites before the January 15 order of the Supreme Court, which banned the same till February 19.
Commissioner & Secretary of Mining & Geology Department T Dkhar in his order issued on Friday said the coal which had been loaded from the sites and in transit before the order of the Supreme Court and having valid documents shall be permitted for transportation.
He said the coal, which has originated outside the state of Meghalaya and being transported through the State of Meghalaya for consumption by factories, general household or export will also be allowed to transport.
““No challan will be issued for transportation of coal in the state after the January 15 order of the Supreme Court,” Commissioner & Secretary said while directing all authorities concerned to comply with the order passed by the Supreme Court.
