The state government has asked all its employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
In his order issued on Tuesday, Chief Secretary MS Rao said, “…all state government employees are hereby advised to get themselves vaccinated at the earliest.”
The order said this will ensure the health and safety of all employees working in the Meghalaya Civil Secretariat and other offices like Directorates, offices of the Chief Engineers, state government corporations and societies.
This was in pursuance of the notification issued by the Health & Family Welfare department on SOP on preventive measures to contain spread of COVID-19 in offices and other establishments.
The Chief Secretary has also asked the head of the department or the controlling authority to monitor the vaccination status of the government employee and a record shall be maintained.
As far as those who are not vaccinated is concerned, Rao said, “All those who do not get vaccinated are advised to get themselves tested at regular intervals (once in 10 days) as a measure of safety and produce the report to the head of department or the controlling authority.”
