Meghalaya Govt extends financial aid to over 87,000 farmers
Over 87,000 farmers have been provided with financial assistance in view of the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown.
According to a bulletin issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), 87,189 farmers from the state have been provided with financial assistance under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.
It said that a total of 7288 people stranded in the different parts of the country were also provided with financial assistance (at Rs 3,000) under the CM’s Special Grant.
The government has also extended Rs 2,100 to each of the 2.02 lakh unorganized labourers.
A total of 9,302 were also provided financial support of Rs 3,000 each under the Building and Other Construction Workers Act.
