Meghalaya govt gears up to provide home delivery service to citizens from March 27
The state government has decided to have home delivery arrangement to ensure that essential commodities are available to citizens at their doorsteps during the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown in the state.
A notification issued by the chief secretary MS Rao here on Thursday said that “store.meghamart.com” has been activated as an end-to-end essential commodity ordering and delivery platform.
Both Cash and Online payments will be accepted.
Items like rice, oil, sugar, milk etc. can be ordered online and will be home-delivered, it said.
The service will be operational in Shillong from tomorrow (27th March, 2020) and at Tura and Jowai from the day after tomorrow (28th March, 2020). meghabazzar.com, IEW (App on Google Play) narifresh.com and syllad.com have been onboarded.
Big retail chains like Vishal Megamart and our local entrepreneurs are also ready to home-delivery from tomorrow at Shillong, Tura, Jowai and Williamnagar.

“The State government is taking all the possible measures to ensure that essential commodities are made available at your doorstep,” the chief secretary said.
Requesting all citizens to not panic and stay indoors, Rao said it is only together that we can beat the coronavirus.
