Meghalaya Govt proposes additional Rs 20 crore to meet the target of beneficiaries under CMHAP
The State government has proposed additional Rs 20 crore as supplementary demand to meet the target of beneficiaries under the Chief Minister’s Housing Assistance Programme for the 55 blocks and villages.
According to the Supplementary Demands for Grants and Supplementary Appropriation for the year 2023-2024 tabled by the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma in the Assembly on Friday, the additional amount of Rs 20,00,00,000 is urgently required during the current financial year to meet the target of beneficiaries under the Chief Minister’s Housing Assistance Programme for the 55 blocks and villages under the Urban Level Selection & Monitoring Committee.
The physical target achievement projected about 250 beneficiaries per block and Urban Level Selection & Monitoring Committee requires the additional fund. Hence, the proposal by supplementary demand, the explanatory notes said.
It also said out of the originally approved voted amount of Rs 70 crore during the current financial year, Rs 20 crore had been sanctioned to meet the expenditure of the committed liability of the last financial year 2022-23.
