Meghalaya Govt to soon float tender for operation of 108 emergency service: Ampareen
Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh on Tuesday informed that the government would soon float the tender for operation of the 108 emergency services in the state.
Currently, the emergency services is temporarily being looked after by the National Health Mission (NHM).
“We are now on the verge of floating the tendering process (for operation of the 108 emergency services in the state),” Lyngdoh told reporters after meeting a delegation of the 108 workers, who expressed their gratefulness to the government’s decision to enhance their monthly remunerations.
“I am praying and hoping that this time, we will have no problems (in the tendering process) as we have learned from previous mistakes. This time, we have a lot of the line departments as members of the committee that is going to be scrutinizing the documents of the (bidders),” she said.
The minister further informed that the pre-bid meeting was supposed to be held today but it had to be postponed till tomorrow.
“All the vendors are aware of this rearrangement of time and I hope that will be able to get through this. I hope that will be able to select the best 108 service providers. I hope will be able to do justice to this,” she said.
“We need to fast track all these problems and iron them out before the vendor comes so that when the vendors comes, they know exactly what he has to take over, what the terms and conditions that we are placing before them, without all of this, it would be difficult for 108 workers to get their rights as workers in a formal platform like a vendor providing 108 service to the state,” she added.
