Meghalaya Govt to soon take a call on price hike issue
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Wednesday told reporters the government is yet to take a call on the hike in the prices of fuel, LPG and other essential commodities.
Tynsong said he would soon sit with the Chief Minister to discuss the price hike issue which is taking place everywhere in India and throughout the world.
“The Chief Minister may convene a meeting on the issue so we will take necessary decisions on this issue,” he informed.
He said “The centre and the states have to jointly take a call on this as it is happening everywhere in the country.”
The deputy chief minister said that the sudden hike in the fuel prices was because of the Russia-Ukraine War. “It has affected not only these two countries but it has affected us globally. Therefore, this is a global issue and not of India alone,” he said.
