Meghalaya govt to write to UGC for postponement of PG & UG exams
The state government has decided to write to the University Grants Commission (UGC) for postponement of the post graduate and under graduate final examinations in the state.
Announcing this after a review meeting held on Wednesday, Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbai said, “We will immediately write to the UGC requesting the need to postpone the PG and UG final examinations.”
He informed that the government will also propose that the final examinations be held from October 7, 9, 12, 14 and 16.
The decision came after stiff opposition from several quarters against the move of the North Eastern Hill University to hold the final examinations this month.
Rymbui informed that over 24,000 students, including 2,000 PG students and 22,000 UG students, who will be appearing for the final examinations.
