Meghalaya govt writes to Centre to simplify registration for vaccination
The state government has taken up with the Centre on the need to simplify the process of registration for the vaccination drive in the state, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said on Friday.
Addressing media persons, Tynsong said that the portal for registration of citizens above the age of 18 years is being created by the Government of India. He admitted that there have been lots of complaints received from the public.
“In view of this, we have written to the Centre to allow the state to simplify the process of registration for vaccination,” he said.
Earlier, NGOs including the Thma U Rangli-Juki have requested the state government not to make app based CoWin registration mandatory for the vaccine citing that as health is a state subject under the constitutional arrangement this can easily be done.
