Meghalaya: Huge concealed arms & ammunitions of GNLA unearthed

Acting on reliable inputs of the concealment of huge number of arms and ammunition kept hidden in the jungles of Dorengkigre by GNLA militants before their surrender, East Garo Hills police launched a search operation on Friday to recover the concealed items.

The search operation was launch by SF- 10 operation team under the direction of Superintendent of Police East Garo Hills District.

At 8.00 am the operation team recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from Pilongre area of Dorengkigre.

The list of recovered items includes, 1(one) claymore IED box, 5(five) electric detonators, 63 (sixty-three) 7.62 mm live ammunition, 41(forty one) 50 BMG live ammunition, About 250 gram explosives.

The recovered arms and ammunitions were brought to Williamnagar police station for taking further necessary action. The case have been registered for further investigation.
